Kim Hawks' Artist Statement

My photographic journey focuses on things I care most about; subjects I'm interested in & passionate about: landscapes in nature, macro plant portraits, special events, music photography, informal portraits, children & pets.

Photographers...like writers, painters & musicians....work in solitude at their craft. Photography is a personal journey of the heart. It is my canvas, my instrument. It provides a creative, emotional & artistic expression.

As a photographer, I aim to:

• Transport viewers to another place, view or awareness
• Evoke an emotional response
• Bring a new appreciation into the viewer's awareness
• Stir the soul
