For more information: http://www.triangleland.org/what-we-do/nature-preserves/white-pines-nature-preserve This 275 acre White Pines tract is located 8 miles south of Pittsboro in an area where White Pines are rarely seen. An afternoon spent hiking in these woods is a great way to spend a day away from the hustle and bustle of life. Familiar plants of the piedmont live here beside plants that normally thrive in cooler climates to the west and north of us: mountain laurel & white pines among other plants.
